Feimilan WANG Elected as Arbitrator of Shanghai Arbitration Commission (Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan)

In the new Register of Arbitrators published on this occasion, there are in total 1,398 arbitrators from the Chinese Mainland, accounting for 79%; 79 arbitrators from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, accounting for 4%; and 308 foreign arbitrators, accounting for 17%. The new arbitrators are from 111 countries and regions and are available in 42 languages, covering 77 countries along the "Belt and Road". The expertise covers real estate disputes, construction disputes, financial disputes (including insurance, futures, securities, financing, etc.), product quality liability disputes, intellectual property disputes (including patent, copyright, trademark, etc.), maritime and marine disputes, transportation disputes, as well as economic disputes such as international trade, international agency, international engineering projects, international investment and international technical cooperation. Following the renewal of arbitrators, the number of origins of arbitrators at the Shanghai Arbitration Commission has increased significantly, in keeping with the continued growth in the country coverage of parties to the cases. The extension of the professional resources of foreign arbitrators will better satisfy the demands of related market players and simultaneously improve the quality of arbitration services, which is also consistent with the international and professional development orientation reflected in the current reform of the institutional mechanism of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission.
