Weiyu WU Appointed as People's Supervisor by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice
On December 31, 2021, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice released an appointment announcement: Pursuant to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Justice's Measures for the Administration of the Selection of People's Supervisors, and in accordance with the conditions and procedures for the selection of People' s Supervisors, upon review and publicity, it is hereby decided to appoint Weiyu WU, Partner of Hylands Law Firm, as People's Supervisor for a term from December 31, 2021 to December 30, 2026.
The duties of the People' s Supervisor shall be as follows: Pursuant to the requirements of the Supreme People's Procuratorate in the Provisions for the Supervision of the People's Supervisors in Case Handling Activities of the People's Procuratorates, the People's Supervisors shall be entitled to supervise the case handling activities of the People's Procuratorates at all levels in the city by participating in the public examination of cases, public hearings, case quality assessment, etc., and to present their opinions and suggestions.
The People's Supervisor shall always perform his/her duties in accordance with the law. In this process, he/she shall also think positively and explore courageously, demonstrate the positive image of the People's Supervisor in the supervision activities, and shall live up to the trust of the people; he/she shall also have a correct view of the work of the People's Supervisor, consciously abide by the national laws, regulations and the management system, and promote the construction of the rule of law. And it's the due obligations of Hylands in doing so.
