Professional Background

Jessie Yao graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor's degree in Law and a master's degree in International Law. After her graduation Jessie Yao went to New York University School of Law to pursue further studies and earned the LL.M. degree. Jessie Yao is admitted to practice law in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the United States (New York State). She has extensive work experience in leading international law firms such as Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom (Beijing Office) and Baker & McKenzie (Beijing Office). Jessie Yao has provided full process of legal services for certain companies listed in the Fortune Global 500 in area of investment acquisition and compliance within China such as BP Pfizer GE etc. She also has provided full process of legal services for large state-owned enterprises and private enterprises in the area of cross-border mergers and acquisitions such as CNOOC Petro China China North Industries Group SIMIC Group Higer Bus BGI etc. She has provided legal services for investment and financing of some well-known private equity institutions including New Horizon Blackstone Group Sequoia Capital De Tong Capital Innoangel fund Yi Fang Group etc. She has issued legal opinions for a number of private fund management institutions and served as perennial legal counsel for certain famous companies. She has provided foreign legal services to Export-Import Bank of China Shanghai Branch Bank of Communications Shanghai Branch etc. Jessie Yao also has research and practical service experience in emerging legal fields such as artificial intelligence bio-medicine new energy vehicles and data compliance.
