Miao ZHANG Elected Supervisor of the Fifth China Legal Aid Foundation
On August 25, 2022, the General Election Meeting of China Legal Aid Foundation was held in Beijing. As commissioned by the Secretary of the Leading Party Group of the Ministry of Justice and Minister Yijun TANG, Changhua ZHAO, Member of the Leading Party Group of the Ministry and Director of the Political Department, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting elected the Directors and Supervisors of the Fifth Board of Directors and elected Dacheng ZHAO as the Chairman of the Fifth Board of Directors of China Legal Aid Foundation. Miao ZHANG, Member of the Management Committee and Partner of Hylands, was invited to attend the meeting as Honorary Director of the Fourth Council, and was elected as Supervisor of the Fifth China Legal Aid Foundation. The meeting also elected the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Supervisors and Secretary General, and deliberated and adopted the work report and financial report of the Fourth Board of Directors of China Legal Aid Foundation.
Miao ZHANG was appointed as Supervisor of China Legal Aid Foundation, a high recognition of the work of Hylands by China Legal Aid Foundation. Miao ZHANG will perform the duties of Supervisor in conjunction with her own legal expertise. Meanwhile, Hylands will continue to provide comprehensive legal safeguards for China Legal Aid Foundation in fields such as public interest compliance, risk prevention and control, value preservation, intellectual property rights and dispute resolution, and contribute to the legal compliance performance of public interest organizations.
Approved by the State Council and registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs in 1997, China Legal Aid Foundation is the only national public fundraising foundation committed to the development of legal aid in China. The Foundation aims to secure equal judicial protection for all citizens and to uphold the fundamental rights granted to citizens by law.
