The First National Partner Congress 2022 of Hylands Successfully Held
On May 20, 2022, Hylands Law Firm's First National Partner Congress of 2022 was successfully held. Considering the pandemic prevention and control measures, the conference allowed physical and online participation. The main venue was set up in the Beijing office, and partners from other offices attended the conference online. A total of 135 people attended the meeting, including Lawyer Hong LIU, Director of Hylands, Lawyer Zhengfu ZHU, Chairman of the National Partner Congress, Lawyer Qi JIANG, Chairman of the National Board of Directors, Lawyer Yu XU, Director of the Beijing Office Management Committee, and partners from offices across the country. Lawyer Zhengfu ZHU presided over the meeting.
The meeting successively passed the Hylands Law Firm (National) Articles of Association (Amendment), the proposal on electing Lawyer Qi JIANG as the Chairman of the National Board of Directors, National Board of Directors' Annual Budget Plan for National Management Affairs, National Office Partner Grading System, and Management Rules for Partner Representative Qualifications of the National Partner Congress. At the meeting, Hylands' new brand logo was released for public solicitation of opinions. A resolution was also passed to appoint leading partners to the professional committees. Partners conducted discussions over the latest version of the ‘Conflict of Interest Management Implementation Measures’, ‘Bidding and Storage Rules’, ‘Customer Service Manual’, ‘Enterprise WeChat Group Management Measures’, and other management systems. Scientific rules and systematic measures lay the foundation for the future development of the firm, and will help Hylands achieve the goal of implementing ‘systematic management and efficient management’.
2022 is a year of special significance. Communist Party of China (CPC) hold the 20th National Congress this year. This meeting was held at a critical stage when the Party entered a new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country and marching towards the second centenary goal. Studying the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC is an important task of party-building work. The meeting pointed out the direction for building the rule of law. The legal industry is undergoing transformation. Hylands has been working hard to adapt to changes, move forward steadily, and insist on innovation. Now, it has grown into a leading large-scale comprehensive law firm. The year 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of Hylands, which indicates that the firm needs to shift its gears to achieve more in its future journey.
At the beginning of the meeting, lawyer Hong LIU delivered an opening speech. He mentioned that although the pandemic persists, the Hylands people have been working with high morale. The discussions we together had on the development plans reflect the unity, confidence, and determination of the Hylands people.
Lawyer Zhengfu ZHU stated that it is of great significance to hold this conference at such a special time. Hylands has been watching closely the development of the industry, exploring opportunities and meeting challenges. This meeting can point out the direction for Hylands' future development.
Lawyer Qi JIANG said that a proper system and its discipline are the cornerstones for the development of Hylands. After several revisions, the Articles of Association (Amendment) and other relevant rules and regulations were officially released. The new system aptly reflects Hylands’ concept of ‘co-ownership, joint construction, joint governance, and sharing’, and will help achieve the aim of creating a ‘client-centered law firm’, and lay the foundation for the integrated construction of the firm. He also mentioned that the Hylands people have always been able to look at problems from the perspective of development, respect history, and respect the spirit of the contract; in addition, the Hylands people have a forward-looking vision, open-mindedness, eager to promote innovation, and are willing to contribute their wisdom to help the firm grow.
Lawyer Miao ZHANG explained the ‘National Office Partner Grading System’ and ‘Management Rules for Partner Representative Qualifications of the National Partner Congress’. He mentioned that ‘Grading System’ and ‘Management Rules’ are to provide institutional guarantees for the scientific development of the firm. The systems are formulated by considering the specific situation of Hylands and will help Hylands achieve efficient management. The improvement of the institutionalized construction of the firm will help the Hylands people further enhance their rule-obeying awareness and system execution ability.
Lawyer Yipeng JIA was in charge of considering opinions on the three proposals for a new logo for Hylands. The new logo of Hylands Law Firm continues the use of the core element of the original logo - the letter ‘H’, which was taken from the initial letter of HYLANDS, but optimizes the proportion of the combination highlighting the core concept of Hylands of inheritance and innovation, echoing the spirit of ‘sharing and altruism’. The three proposals differ mainly in color. The final choice will be announced later. Let us eagerly wait for it.
Hosted by lawyer Yu XU, the meeting passed a resolution to approve and appoint responsible partners for Hylands' eight industry committees and twelve professional committees. Professionalism is the foundation of a law firm. The purpose of Hylands to establish 20 industry committees, professional committees, and 31 professional groups is to better realize the goal of integrated management of the firm. Each committee has expertise in their practice industry and professional field, and directly leads the work of various branches. They aim to accumulate wisdom, coordinate resource sharing, and achieve the effect of co-development, and win-win cooperation.
All appointed responsible partners of the committee made speeches. They expressed their sincere gratitude to the firm for recognition and trust and introduced the work plans of their respective committees. Details are as follows:

The responsible partners expressed that they will actively respond to the requirements of the firm for integrated development, strive to build Hylands into a high-end commercial law firm and work together to develop better. The establishment of the twenty major industry committees and professional committees marks the formation of an integrated business center, which will help Hylands increase its brand image, and constitute a more scientific and efficient management system. Committees will serve as a platform for the partners and enable them to provide customers with more accurate, more efficient, and more comprehensive legal services.
At the end of the meeting, lawyer Zhengfu ZHU delivered a concluding speech. He mentioned the overwhelming success of the conference and attributed it to the spirit of unity of the Hylands people.
