Hylands Attended the China International Fair for Trade in Services - 2022 and Legal Forum
From August 31 to September 5, the China International Fair for Trade in Services - 2022 (Service Trade Fair), co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, was held at the Beijing National Convention Center and Shougang Park. It was held both in online and offline form. The event lasted for 6 days, and was themed ‘Service Cooperation Promotes Development, Green Innovation Brings a Bright Future’. Hylands Law Firm attended the Service Trade Fair, and its booth was located at 5015 - 41 in the supply chain and business service area of Hall 5 of Shougang Park. Guangyu LI, a partner of Hylands also attended the 2nd China International Service Trade Legal Forum on the theme of ‘Promoting Cooperation to Win: New Development of Foreign-related Legal Services’, and delivered a speech at the forum.
On the morning of September 3, the ‘Second China International Service Trade Legal Forum’ hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice and co-organized by the Beijing Lawyers Association, Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center was held at the National Convention Center. Xuanguo XIONG, Vice Minister of Justice, Guixiang LIU, Deputy Commissioner of the Supreme People's Court, and Yanjun QI, Vice Minister of Public Security and Deputy Mayor of Beijing attended the forum and delivered speeches. Hang YIN, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal Government, presided over the opening ceremony. This forum was one of the series of forums of the Service Trade Fair. With the theme of ‘Promoting Cooperation to Win: New Development of Foreign-related Legal Services’. The forum discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by lawyers, arbitrators, notaries, and judges in the new development stage of foreign-related legal services, and summarized the experience in improving the depth and breadth of international legal services.
In the fourth session of the forum, a discussion was held on ‘Cross-border Notarization and Evidence Preservation’. Lawyer Guangyu LI, a partner of Hylands Law Firm, spoke and took questions from the guests. Lawyer Li opined that there is a huge stock of existing financial claims and that mass litigation should be accelerated to resolve them. Attorney Li pointed out that it is difficult to submit evidence and verify the authenticity of evidence in mass litigation, so he proposed solutions such as submitting electronic evidence, using digital signatures in electronic evidence, and preserving evidence through blockchain technology.
