Hylands Elected to the New Registry of Arbitrators and Mediators of the Hainan International Arbitration Court
On May 30, 2021, Hainan International Arbitration Court (Hainan Arbitration Commission) announced the "Register of Additional Arbitrators of Hainan International Arbitration Court (Hainan Arbitration Commission)" and "Register of Additional Mediators of Hainan International Arbitration Court (Hainan Arbitration Commission) International Commercial Mediation Center", which will be effective on June 1, 2021, and Lin YAN and Li YANLONG, Partners of Hylands Law Firm, were honored to be elected as Arbitrators of Hainan Arbitration Commission, and Yuming CAO was honored to be selected as Mediator of Hainan International Arbitration Court (Hainan Arbitration Commission) International Commercial Mediation Center.
The Hainan International Arbitration Court (HICA) is an international commercial arbitration institution established by the Hainan Provincial Government following the restructuring of the former Hainan Arbitration Commission, which is an important step taken by the provincial government to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's "4.13" Important Speech and the spirit of the Central Government's Document 12, and to create a rule of law, internationalization and facilitation business environment for Hainan's free trade port. The restructured Hainan International Arbitration Court has established a corporate governance structure guided by the Board of Directors, which operates independently as a socially beneficial statutory body and a non-profit legal entity, implementing a governance mechanism with mutual checks and balances in decision-making, implementation and supervision, making it the only arbitration institution in the country that no longer retains the nature of a public institution.
