Multiple Lawyers Appointed as Arbitrators of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court

On February 19, 2022, based on the Arbitration Law of the People's Republic of China and the Regulations of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration Court (SCIA), the new SICA Arbitrator Register was initiated on February 21, 2022, upon the deliberation at the Eighteenth Meeting of the Second SCIA Council. A number of lawyers from Hylands such as Zhengfu ZHU, Qi JIANG, Jinfeng WU, Shuo JIANG, Shanhua ZHANG, Guoyao CHEN, Lexiong ZHANG and Nan XIANG have been appointed as arbitrators of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court. Lawyers from Hylands will provide impartial, professional and efficient dispute resolution services in accordance with the laws of the People' s Republic of China, international practices as well as the rules of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court.
SCIA Overview
Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (also known as "South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission", " Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center" or "Shenzhen Arbitration Commission", abbreviated as "SCIA" in English) was established in 1983 in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, China, which is an arbitration institution for the settlement of contract disputes and other property rights disputes between and among natural persons, legal persons and other organizations within and outside China. On January 2, 2020, the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court was declared an "Advanced Entity of National Public Legal Services" (Period of declaration: from January 2, 2020 to January 8, 2020). SCIA is the explorer of the internationalization of commercial arbitration in China. It was the first in China to engage an overseas arbitrator in 1984, and in 1989, it pioneered the first Chinese Mainland arbitral award to be enforced by an overseas court in accordance with the UN Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards. South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission has more than one-third of its members from overseas, and more than one-third of its arbitrators are from 25 countries and the Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan Region of China. SCIA has been adhering to the principles of independence, impartiality and efficiency in addressing domestic disputes, foreign-related disputes and international disputes, with clients from all provincial regions in the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as more than 50 countries.
