The 2022 New Year Concert of Hylands Ended Successfully
On December 30, 2021, HYLANDS bid farewell to the old year and welcomed a New Year with HYLANDS C Orchestra’s 2022 New Year Concert - Taste Baroque II-Vivaldi Special Performance in the Air Concert Hall of HYLANDS Law Firm.
In the past year, HYLANDS has not only made great achievements in the field of the law business but also made vigorous progress in the construction of a unique law firm culture. HYLANDS C Orchestra received strong support from the Management Committee of HYLANDS Law Firm and got generous backing from colleagues and all sectors of society. All the members who love music devoted themselves to practice and continuously produced high-quality music works, thus contributing to the construction of the brand of HYLANDS Law Firm.
Hong LIU, director of HYLANDS Xinhe Law Firm, and Qi JIANG, Wenting LI, and Zhitong ZHU, members of the Management Committee, attended the event. More than 100 people participated in the event, with over 1,000 audiences online.
The performance consisted of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons divertimento and Concerto in G Minor for Two Violoncellos. HYLANDS C Orchestra adheres to the concept of cooperation and achievement and cooperates in performance. The solo part of each piece of music was performed by different actors, which also reflects the open and inclusive nature of HYLANDS Law Firm.
These four concertos are Vivaldi’s most famous works, and their melodies are still flourishing today. All four works adopt title music in the form of a three-movement concerto, which not only matches music according to sonnets but also uses many descriptive techniques. Vivaldi skillfully matched the title in the complex form by alternating the total play with the main play. From the formal point of view, Four Season divertimento is freer and more unbalanced than other concertos, but it can show the characteristics and charm of Baroque music.
The first movement of Spring is the most famous. The music unfolds a brisk and cheerful melody. In the movement, birds sing, the wind blows and the streams whisper, which makes people think of spring and vitality.
Vivaldi’s Summer is unexpected, showing the fatigue and annoyance of summer with images such as cool days, mosquitoes, and heavy rains. It also shows the arrival of wind, thunder, lightning, and destruction.
Winter describes the funny posture of the ice in winter and also describes the scene of overlooking the snow by the fire in winter.
Cello Concerto in G minor for 2 Cellos sounded the opening door with the vigorous voice of the cello, and people couldn’t wait to feel the charm of this bass-stringed instrument in an instant. After the band’s quick performance, it suddenly enhanced the tension of the music and burst into amazing power. The formation of the two cellos is full of tension, which constitutes a warm and unrestrained competition and releases the greatest energy.
Encore’s repertoire is Vivaldi’s RV356, which every violinist used to practice. The group is called ‘MILALA’. The familiar melody reminds every violinist of the memories of childhood piano practices.
After the whole performance, the managing partners of HYLANDS Law Firm presented honorary certificates to the orchestra members.
Attorney Wenting LI, a member of the Management Committee and partner of HYLANDS Law Firm, awarded the certificate of ‘Special Performer’ to representatives of orchestra members Jingwen ZHENG, Xiaoran WEN, Pengfei WU, and Cheng MA to express gratitude for their hard work. It is hoped that everyone can continue to actively participate in various cultural and artistic activities organized by HYLANDS C Orchestra in the new year.
Qi JIANG, the managing partner of HYLANDS Law Firm, presented honorary certificates to Yili YANG, Minister of Second Piano Sound, Qingyan WU, Minister of Viola Sound, and Shi JIA, Minister and Deputy Head of Cello Sound to encourage them to continue to give full play to the artistic talents of each sound minister and contribute to the future operation and development of the orchestra.
Then, Managing Partner Qi JIANG awarded the honorary certificates to Executive Deputy Head Dapeng SUN, Deputy Head Yutian MA, and Bokun SHI, hoping that the deputy heads will continue to play their corresponding abilities within the orchestra in the future and provide support and guarantee for the rapid and steady development of the orchestra.
Attorney Hong LIU, Director of HYLANDS Law Firm and Chairman of the National Board of Directors, presented an honorary certificate to Jinwei PU, Chief of HYLANDS C Orchestra, thanking him for actively participating in various performances organized by HYLANDS C Orchestra, and hoping him to continuously produce high-quality performances with his stable piano skills.
Finally, Director Hong LIU presented an honorary certificate to attorney Xu ZHANG, head of HYLANDS C Orchestra, thanking him for his outstanding contribution to the operation and development of HYLANDS C Orchestra, rehearsal and performance, and the organic integration of HYLANDS C Orchestra into the brand culture construction of HYLANDS Law Firm since its establishment.
The whole performance lasted for two hours, and audiences cheered and went into silence from time to time, thoroughly imbibing the charm brought by the classical music. With amazing skills and excellent standards, HYLANDS C Orchestra pushed the atmosphere to a magnificent climax. The carefully curated concert was a New Year gift from the HYLANDS C Orchestra to the lawyers, as a good gesture on their part.
